David Gedge

Few figures are more closely woven into the history of British indie music than David Gedge, and his September appearance at Komedia offers something rather more intimate than a conventional Wedding Present show. Gedge arrives in Brighton to present the third volume of his Tales From The Wedding Present series, What Have I Said Now?, combining conversation, autobiography and music. The book charts the band's rise through the late 1980s and early 1990s, taking in Bizarro, Seamonsters, North American tours, Top of the Pops and encounters with characters ranging from Steve Albini to Status Quo.

The evening begins with an acoustic set from Darren Hayman before Gedge, alongside collaborators Terry de Castro and artist Lee Thacker, are subjected to an interview and audience Q&A. The evening concludes with a stripped-back semi-acoustic Wedding Present set featuring Gedge, de Castro and guitarist Rachael Wood.
