About the event
John Kearns is one of those comics who makes you laugh a beat later than everyone else—because your brain’s still catching up with what he’s doing. His new show Tilting at Windmills lands at Brighton Dome’s Corn Exchange on Thu 2 April 2026 (7:30pm; doors 6:45pm), and it’s exactly the kind of room that suits his style: intimate enough for the awkward pauses, big enough for the payoff.
The Dome billing calls it a “fragmented, digressing portrayal” of modern life—full of detours, odd little fixations, and those brilliantly off-centre observations that turn into huge laughs once you realise where he’s headed.
