About the event

After more than three decades of making some of Britain's most sophisticated, bittersweet and gloriously metropolitan pop, Saint Etienne arrive at Brighton Dome on 25 September for what promises to be an emotional farewell. Formed in London in 1990 by Bob Stanley, Pete Wiggs and Sarah Cracknell, the trio transformed everyday British life into pop music, combining Northern soul, house, disco, indie, electronica and a deep affection for the country's cultural history into something that sounded unmistakably their own.

Their Brighton appearance is part of the band's final UK tour, following the release of their 13th album, International. Rather than presenting the occasion as a solemn goodbye, however, Saint Etienne are treating it as a celebration of a remarkable catalogue that includes 17 UK Top 40 singles and 13 albums, from Only Love Can Break Your Heart and He's on the Phone to You're in a Bad Way and Nothing…
