About the event

Few contemporary plays have found such an inventive way of turning a character's perception of the world into theatre as The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Mark Haddon's bestselling novel arrives at the Theatre Royal Brighton from 29 September to 3 October in the award-winning stage adaptation that has already collected seven Olivier Awards and five Tony Awards.

At its centre is Christopher Boone, a 15-year-old with an extraordinary aptitude for mathematics and an equally extraordinary difficulty navigating the social codes that most people take for granted. When he discovers that his neighbour's dog, Wellington, has been killed, Christopher decides to investigate. What begins as a relatively straightforward detective mystery gradually becomes something much larger: an unsettling and moving journey into Christopher's family life and, ultimately, beyond the familiar boundaries of his own world.

What makes the production so distinctive is the way it refuses to tell…
