Brighton Art Book Fair celebrates the creative possibilities of the printed book, bringing together artists, photographers, designers and independent publishers whose work explores the relationship between image, text and material form.

Dedicated to artists’ books, photobooks and zines, the fair offers a platform for independently produced publications that often sit outside conventional publishing. Visitors can discover limited editions, handmade books, experimental photographic projects and publications that treat the book itself as an artwork.

The event provides an opportunity to meet the people behind the publications, explore their creative processes and encounter work directly from the artists and publishers who produce it. From carefully constructed photobooks to affordable zines and small-run editions, the fair reflects the diversity of contemporary independent publishing.

Artists’ books can function as much more than vehicles for information. Through paper, printing, sequence, typography, image-making and physical construction, they can become spaces for experimentation, personal expression and the development of ideas. The fair celebrates this expanded understanding of the book, connecting publishing with photography, visual art and graphic design.

Taking place at Phoenix Art Space, an important part of Brighton’s independent arts community, Brighton Art Book Fair brings together local and international creative voices in an environment that encourages discovery, conversation and exchange.

For artists, collectors, readers and anyone interested in the intersection of art and publishing, the fair offers a chance to explore printed work beyond the conventional bookshop. It is a fitting reflection of Brighton’s independent creative culture and its continuing interest in alternative forms of publishing and visual expression.
