Brighton has long been a fertile ground for comedy, from intimate club nights and alternative performance to major touring acts. Brighton Dome Comedy Festival brings this lively culture into focus with a programme spanning stand-up, satire, character comedy, live podcasts, family shows and experimental performance.
The festival's 2026 edition sees Brighton Dome and Komedia join forces for ten days of comedy across two of the city's best-known venues. The programme combines familiar television and touring names with cult favourites, emerging performers and distinctive acts that push beyond conventional stand-up. Workshops and events for younger audiences also extend the festival beyond the traditional comedy-club crowd.
More than a succession of gigs, the festival reflects Brighton's wider reputation as a place where independent venues, performers and audiences sustain a varied and adventurous cultural scene. Whether the attraction is sharp political humour, surreal comedy or an evening of live storytelling, the festival offers a concentrated snapshot of contemporary comedy in the city.
