Brighton & Hove Pride is one of the city's most visible and widely celebrated annual events, bringing together LGBTQ+ communities, residents and visitors for a weekend of colour, music, solidarity and self-expression. Its atmosphere is unmistakably Brighton: welcoming, exuberant and proudly individual, while retaining a strong connection to the activism and community organising at the heart of Pride.
The celebrations include the LGBTQ+ Community Parade, which moves through the city in a vibrant display of identity, creativity and collective visibility. Community groups, charities, local organisations and businesses come together alongside individuals and supporters, creating a procession that is both a celebration and a statement of belonging.
The wider Pride programme brings large-scale music events and a host of associated parties, performances and community activities. Across the city, venues and independent businesses often join the celebrations, adding their own events to the weekend.
Yet Pride means more than a party. It recognises the history of LGBTQ+ campaigning, celebrates the freedom to live openly and creates space for people to connect with others who share their experiences or stand in solidarity with them. Brighton's long-standing LGBTQ+ identity makes the occasion especially significant.
For visitors, Pride offers a powerful glimpse of the city's inclusive spirit. For many local people, it is a moment to celebrate community, remember how far rights have come and recognise the work that remains.
