Brighton Tattoo Convention celebrates tattooing as an art form, bringing together international and British tattoo artists, specialist studios, collectors and enthusiasts for a weekend dedicated to creativity and self-expression.

The convention showcases a wide range of tattoo styles, from traditional and neo-traditional designs to realism, illustration, Japanese-inspired imagery and experimental contemporary work. Visitors can discover the techniques and approaches of individual artists, meet studios and explore the relationship between tattooing, drawing, painting and wider visual culture.

Beyond tattooing itself, the event features galleries, independent traders, clothing, jewellery, merchandise, live music, food and drink, competitions and other elements of alternative culture. This wider programme creates a lively environment in which tattoo art sits alongside fashion, design, music and independent creative enterprise.

The convention provides an opportunity for visitors to encounter artists whose work is normally experienced on the body, while also exploring the sketches, visual references and creative processes behind their designs. For tattoo enthusiasts, it offers a chance to discover new artists and styles; for the more curious visitor, it provides an introduction to a distinctive and continually evolving art form.

Returning to the Brighton Centre on 27–28 February 2027 for its eighteenth edition, Brighton Tattoo Convention reflects the city's long-standing association with independent expression and alternative lifestyles. It brings together a community connected by visual experimentation, craftsmanship and the desire to make art personal.

Whether approached as an art event, a celebration of body modification or a meeting place for alternative culture, the convention offers a distinctive addition to Brighton's annual cultural calendar.
